Abstract

This research is entitled (Reflection of Kirkuk in some selected texts of Sherko Bekas) in which the appearance of Kirkuk is discussed in a number of texts by Sherko Bekas. There are many poets who have written about Kirkuk and its being a Kurdish city. They have written about the roles, positions and characteristics of the city. This city holds a lot of writings and researches, whether in terms of history or in terms of the city's strategy and Geographical location and natural resources.
Kirkuk is the decorated place that always exists in the poet's memory and is the field of conflict of events and disasters. The poet didn’t come directly to narrate and picture Kirkuk and the events, because that is the job of historians, but he presents Kirkuk to us through the principles of poetry, in such a way that he uses Kirkuk as a symbol or he uses different forms and frames revolving around one idea depending on the language of the heart, the camera of the eye and the thinking of the brain. It was driven by one mechanism and dynamo, which was the thought of being Kurds. The foundation of this worldview was the birthplace of most of his works and masterpieces. He had a great poetic talent and a fine camera eye. He pays close attention to things and events and gets used to them.
