Noun in Kurdish language, just like all the other languages, one of the significant word classes, that based on ways and aspects, it can be divided into many types, including: content, possession, formation, gender …etc. This research attempts to examine (equipment name), which is an abstract name for those equipment and devices daily used by humans. The names of (device) and (equipment) have been kept different by some researchers, this is because device is named to each of these components and elements that make up an equipment, while equipment is named to those objects made up of a group of devices and used by humans in a specific field. For example, (mobile) is the name of an equipment used for communication made up from many various devices like screen, speaker, battery…etc.
This work is entitled (Equipment Name in Kurdish Poetry) in which both devices and equipment have been put together under equipment name, because when equipment is used and said, it also means and refers to its constituting devices. This research discusses equipment name, types and some those equipment names have been borrowed from foreign languages to Kurdish as they are or modified and edited. The work also highlights the equipment names used by the Kurdish poets, particularly the poets of the late 19th, the early and middle of the 20th centuries. The examples are taken from several poets, namely (Nali, Wafayee, Qanih, Piramerd, Goran and Hemin).
