Abstract

The study titled (the markedness process in supra-segmental phonemes), and this is an attempt to demonstrate the marking/markedness process in the Kurdish language, as the research begins from lexicon to syntax, and the lexical structure hypothesis is part of the study. Root and affix morphemes are classified as lexical elements, while complex lexical units are morphological units. Marking processes were tested at the level of supra-segmental phonemes in monomorphic dictionaries, then in morphological words, and then in a free grammatical operation. This means that the tagging process was tested in lexicons of single morphemes, complex morphological words, and lexical syntax words. The research consists of two sections, the first section of the study includes theoretical aspects that discuss the structure of the lexicon, grammar, the concept of marking and its types, while the second section is devoted to the process of testing marking in lexicon and grammar, in which the semantic and formal changes were identified. The examples and statements are grammatically tested. The research followed the descriptive analytical approach, adopting the central Kurdish dialect in the daily speech of dialect speakers.
