زانستی زمانی دركپێكردن بەنوێترین تیۆریی زانستی لەبواری زمانەوانیدا دادەنرێت، كە گرنگی بەلایەنی هزری و پڕۆسە ئاوەزییەكان و توانادركپێكراوەكان لەپڕۆسەی شیكردنەوەی ئاخاوتندا دەدات، بەشێوەیەكی نوێ و زانستییانە. ئیدیەمیش یەكێكە لەو بوارانەی زمان، كە پەیوەندییەكی توندوتۆڵ و بەهێزی بەتوانا دركپێكراوەكانەوە هەیە، كە هەر پێنج هەستەوەرە سەرەكییەكە دەگرێتەوە، ئەوانیش بریتیین لەهەستی (بینین، بیستن، بەركەوتن، تامكردن و بۆنكردن)، بەئاشكرا هەست بەڕەنگدانەوەی هەستەوەرەكان لەئەزمونكردنی جیهانی دەرەوە لەلایەن ئاخێوەرەوە دەكرێت، و پاشان دووبارەكردنەوەی لەلایەن قسەپێكەرانی كۆمەڵەوە. ناونیشانی توێژینەوەكە بریتییە لە (ئیدیەم لەڕوانگەی زانستی زمانی دركپێكردنەوە)، لەم توێژینەوەیەدا هەوڵدراوە شیكردنەوەو لێكدانەوە بۆ (ئیدیەم) لەڕوانگەی توانادركپێكراوەكانەوە، كەبریتییە لەهەستەوەرەكان، لەگەڵ تیۆری(تۆڕی سیمانتیكی)، كە یەكێكە لەبابەتە گرنگەكانی سیمانتیكی دركپێكردن بكرێت، كە لەواتای وشە دەكۆڵێتەوە. كەواتە بەشێوەیەكی كارەكی كار لەسەر تێگەیشتن و لێكدانەوە لەئیدیەم لەڕوانگەی هەستەوەرەكانەوە دەكەین، پاشان پەیوەست بەتیۆری تۆڕی سیمانتیكییەوە، كرۆكەواتاو توێكڵەواتای وشەكانی ناو ئیدیەم شیدەكەینەوە.

Cognitive linguistics is one of the latest scientific studies in the field of applied linguistics, which attaches great importance to mental and intellectual aspects and cognitive abilities in the analytical processes of language utilizing modern and scientific standards. The concept of (metonymy) is one of the linguistic domains that has strong relationships with the perceptual abilities that include the five senses: sight (vision), hearing (auditory), smell (olfactory), taste (gustatory), touch (tactile). A speaker can feel the impact of these senses in his/her experiences and verbal skills, which are also recurrently used by other language users in the society.
This study, entitled Metonymy from the Perspective of Cognitive Linguistics, It is an attempt to analyze and interpret the concept of (metonymy) through the perceptual abilities represented by the five senses, in connection with the theory of the (semantic network), which is one of the important semantic perceptual topics that examine the semantics of linguistic words. So the research is a scientific attempt to understand and analyze the metonymy based on the five senses and interconnected with the semantic network theory, which we have taken as a means and an approach to analyze the real and figurative meanings of the words contained in the sentences and phrases.
