This study aims to identify the Iraqi dinar exchange rate and its types as well as the factors affecting it, and to identify inflation and its types and causes, and the research dealt with analyzing and measuring the impact of the exchange rate on inflation in Iraq during the period 2004-2018, by adopting the statistical program (Eviews 9).The problem of the research was to formulation the influential and controlling policy on the exchange rate variable that must be directly affecting inflation. One of the most important results of the standard study in which the ARDL model was used to measure and analyze the impact of the exchange rate on reducing inflation in Iraq during the period 2004-2018 They are: the presence of a significant direct effect of the exchange rate at a significant level (0.05), as well as one of the most important results of a decrease in inflation rates in the Iraqi economy for the period (2008-2018) was the result of a declining in exchange rates against the dollar. One of the most important suggestions of the study is working to achieve low inflation rates, by adopting policies that help reduce inflation rates, so that the Central Bank can maintain the stability of the Iraqi dinar exchange rate and work to increase production and productivity and improve the quality of locally produced goods and services, which in turn leads to an increase in GDP (gross domestic product).
