ما نلاحظه في روايات "جان دوست" تطرقه أو تطرق شخصيات رواياته إلى نزعات كانت سائدة في المجتمع الكوردي على نحو واضح في زمنها، أو لاتزال. ليكون بالنتيجة فاصلاً معرفياً يفصل بين البيئتين المنقسمة بين الطريقتين وتقسم الهوية القومية على هويات فرعية مختلفة، نتحسس بتفاصيل هذه النزعات، فمنها ترتبط بدائرة أوسع كنظرة المجتمع الكوردي، اجتهاداته، تفهمهة إلى الدين الإسلامي، ومن أكثر هذه المظاهر شيوعاً، ظهور ثنائية الطريقتين السائدتين في المجتمع الكوردي. ولكل من هاتين الطريقتين: الطريقة القادرية، والطريقة النقشبندية مريدون، وتابعون: وكيفية نشأتهما في كوردستان، ثم التلميح إلى خصائصهم، وعلاقتهما بالأخرى ، تأثيراتها، وانعكاساتها في فضاء هذه الروايات، مستشهداً بشواهد على لسان شخصياتها على نحو ينبغي تغطية الظاهرة، والتعريف برموزهم في حدود ما يتطلبه البحث.

What we notice through the novels of "Jan Dost", the characters of his novels touch on tendencies that were clearly prevalent in Kurdish society at the time, or still are.
