Abstract
Citizen journalism has created a turning point in the field of producing and publishing media content in a way that has seen a great change in the nature of media work in the light of the development of logistics and the revolution of digital media and the increase in the use of smartphones.
The problem of the study is to determine the level of reliance of Kurdistan Region’s journalists on citizen journalism as a source of information in the Kurdistan Region. This research is used in the type of descriptive research that is approved and the way media surveys are used. The research group is based on journalists in the Kurdistan Region, and the research is based on 183 journalists of both male and female genders who have been taken in a not random lying manner.
The study has come to many scientific conclusions, including citizen journalism being a source of information for journalists in the Kurdistan Region who use it differently and rely on it in the weaving of information. In a way that the level of support for the samples of (moderate) is (50.3%) and (the highest) level. Also, (25.7%) of the rate is at a (high level) and (8.7%) at the level of (very much) depends on the information of the citizens' journalists. The lowest rate of rating is at the low level (12.0%) and at the level (very low) of (3.3%) they rely on this information. On the other hand, one of the most important factors that motivate the use of citizen journalism information as a source of media information in the sector is the speed of publishing hot news and events and motivation the main rate (%84.15) is also the highest rate of citizen journalists' activists in the social network as a center for publishing breaking news, information and incidents of all kinds.
