Abstract

In this study, I endeavored to present a descriptive picture of the epithet and its transformative patterns according to the ancient grammatical approach in the poetry of a poet of the modern era. The adjective as it is - is known - is one of the five subordinates, and it has great importance on the structural and semantic levels. The research tried to monitor this synthetic role in its types (derivative, rigid, singular, sentence, semi-sentence, real, and causal), and how the poet employs it in his poetry. , as well as observing the semantic role, which may be the main reason that called the poet to employ it extensively in his poetry, and then monitor the transformations that occurred to him from cutting, omission, and Presenting and delaying, by applying to selected models of his poetry, by highlighting the epithet evidence and analyzing it to reveal the grammatical purposes and meanings that it contains, and the reasons for deviating from the original, and to indicate the extent to which his linguistic style agrees with what has been approved by the grammarians.
