The growing activity of British explorers and diplomats to Kurdistan and writing their travelogues and memoirs, especially in the first half of the nineteenth century, led a large number of European explorers to start their journeys to the eastern regions, especially to Kurdistan. It was also seen as one of the bridges between East and West.
Their hidden motives and objectives were manifested in various aspects, through which they were able to serve the British policy and strategy in Kurdistan, through which Britain made efforts to strengthen its position in the region on a large scale. They conducted several special envoys to research and map in order to carry out activities and attract Kurds to their interests.  In this regard, they submitted several academic studies on the social, economic, political and topographical conditions of the region in the form of reports.
