Abstract

Development is a complex process; it is the product of the interaction of the elements that are related to the movement and progress of society as a result of quantitative and qualitative changes in people's lives over a period of time. The notion of development was wider than focusing only on economic aspect, it includes the social aspects as well, thus the social development is an important deliberate process of society through which social, cultural and economic changes and development of societies occur, with the support and active participation of people and different classes of society, in order to achieve welfare and improve the social life of societies Level of livelihood, medical services and education ...etc
This research aims to identify the principles of social development, which are features, objectives, elements, examples and principles of community development planning, as well as to present some of the obstacles that have faced social development in underdeveloped countries. The results of the study indicate that social development leads to change in society and improve the livelihood of individuals in society, however, in the underdeveloped countries, there are many obstacles that prevent it.
