Abstract

This research is a summary about the administrative, cultural and civilization aspects of the city of Aleppo during the reign of al-Malik al-Zahir Ghazi (582-613 A.H/1186-1216 A.D), son of  sultan  Şalāḥ al-Dīn -Ayyubi. This research sheds light on the efforts made byAl-Malik  Al-Zahir Ghazi and his attention during his reign in both the administrative and scientific aspects of the city in history of the middle ages.
This study is consist of  two chapter, first came under the title (Administrative Aspects of the City of Aleppo), in which the light was shed on the administrative organizations of the city of Aleppo from the District, Prosecution and Ministry. While the second chapter came under the title (Al-Malik  Al-Zahir’s Interests in Educational Institutions in Aleppo), where the researcher dealt with the efforts of Al-Zahir Ghazi in establishing schools and the role of science and his encouragement for scholars to go to Aleppo  to contribute to the advancement of science and knowledge. As for the conclusions, they included the findings of the researcher at the end of the research results.
