Abstract
Elegy, in pre-Islamic poetry, is regarded among numerous ways that adapted by the poets at that era and specifically when a dear person for them is being dead or lost. Elegy is considered a form of expressing sadness catches inner side of human beings occasionally. It could cause and fetch sad pains and depression for human being as it happened to Khansa (the poetess) when turned to be a woman of always crying and being sorrowful one, and this been imitated by the women of her age when they were losing their brothers, husbands, and closer relatives. This type of elegiac poetry was utilized by veteran poetess including Khansa, Marwa and Rabab (daughters of Abdul-Mutalib), and Fatima Khuzaeeya, and some poets like Emru Al-Qais and Abda Yaguth. This poetic genre was structured as an art portrait in pre-Islamic poetry, and strictly its vocabularies and forms as closer to contemplation and imagination
