This research deals with the role of youth in social change -Afield study at the University of alahaddin- Erbil.
Abstract
The research problem included four main axes, which were formulated in four objectives to identify the level of awareness of the youth in light of the research variables, The role of youth in social change, social change, and youth's preferred means of social change in the research community. A total of (47) items were developed for the purpose of collecting data from in-kind units, which amounted to (200) students of Salahuddin University, divided into four faculties, two of which are humanitarian and two of which are scientific colleges. Using the statistical bag for social sciences (SPSS), the results of the research are as follows:
1-The youth of the research sample a high level of awareness of their role in social change, with differences in the level of the role of young people attributed to the variables, scientific specialization and place of residence.
2.Young people are supported by the institutions of society to meet their desires in the process of social change.
3-Youth want to make changes in a number of areas including curriculum, class excellence, freedom of expression, clothing models, political participation, gender inequality, and marriage according to European models, non-intervention of the family in the way of life of young people.
4-There are a number of mechanisms that are preferred by young people in social change, such as not wanting to use violence, adopting democratic methods, dialogue, participation in economic life,
active participation in the political process, supporting youth organizations, exercising, Emigration and rejection of the current reality.
5. The results of the underlying structural equation showed a direct and indirect correlation between independent research variables and the role of youth and social change. The research included a number of recommendations and proposals with a list of sources and a summary in English
