Statelessness is a phenomenon that the international community suffers from, and the number of stateless persons is increasing slowly, so we preferred to research this phenomenon, so we were exposed to the statement of the significance of this concept by presenting and discussing the definitions brought by jurisprudence, as well as the definitions provided by international treaties and their legal value in public international law, the framework of these definitions and the extent of their coverage For the different types of stateless people, and this is what necessitated us to research the types of statelessness in appropriate detail, and by it we mean statelessness de jure and statelessness de facto, and we concluded that the definition provided by the 1954 Convention on the Status of Stateless Persons is limited only to persons who are stateless de jure only despite The numbers of the second type are not less than this first type, if not more than it, and to complete the research appropriately, we touched on the traditional reasons and the new reasons behind the creation of statelessness cases. In the other part of the research, we dealt with the role played by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the field of combating statelessness, being the international body with the mandate in this field.
