Human development in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (geographical study)

Abstract
The issue of development received increasing attention in the 1990s among specialists and public opinion alike, at the local, regional and international levels.
All, despite the many topics and studies that have dealt with issues and problems, the role of the geographer in this regard is of great importance and cannot be dispensed with.
   It is noted that geography, as a comprehensive science, revolves mainly around the mutual relations between man and nature, between factors
Humanity and natural factors, a fact confirmed by most geographers, as some of them defined it as “the science that deals with the mutual relationship between human activity and the natural environment in which humans live.”
    Hence, the extent of the geographer’s interest in human development issues appears when studying the dynamic relationships between the natural environment and the human environment, which is the basic scientific basis for identifying the dimensions of geographical problems, and then determining methods for optimal human exploitation of natural resources and land uses, in order to preserve humans and nature, and thus The geographer seeks to understand the relationship between humans and the environmental systems in which they live. One aspect of the crisis of contemporary societies is the problematic relationship between these human societies, as human development problems have worsened at the global level to the extent that development activities have become an increasing and continuing threat to human well-being. And its natural environment in the absence of a clear development philosophy that maintains a balance between considerations of exploiting human resources and the necessities of preserving their continuity.
