Future anxiety is defined as a state of danger, tension, and discomfort due to the anticipation of a danger that may occur in the future. The study works on both theoretical and practical aspects of future anxiety. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the symptoms of future anxiety in terms of gender, age, marital status, place of residence and occupation of the participants. Furthermore, due to the lack of drink and clean water and the distance of water sources from the center of chamchamal, it has not been possible to manage the problem properly. This issue consequently led to increased symptoms of future anxiety including; (fear, anger, pessimism, fear of the spread of disease, worry about continued water scarcity and poor water quality). And also, descriptive, analytical and quantitative methods were used in this study. The questionnaire was submitted to measure the signs of future anxiety, which included 22 items and achieved a very good degree of validity and constancy. Besides that, the (SPSS) was used to analyze the data for (73) Google forms.
The researchers concluded that there was no statistically significant relationship between future anxiety symptoms according to gender, age, marital status, place of residence, and career. The most obvious results of this study showed that females, married people, and women aged 35–40 years, the women doing household work, and those participants living in Anfal areas, the places where water was poured at night, had more symptoms of future anxiety. Finally, this study presented several limitations and recommendations for future research and government in order to reduce the symptoms of future anxiety in chamchamal city.
