Abstract

The establishment of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in 1975 as a semi-force, led by Jalal Talabani, was the result of the failure of the September revolution and the creation of a political vacuum in southern Kurdistan. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, in order to restart its armed struggle against the Iraqi government, re-prepare the barricades, formed one national liberation army, and revitalized and armed political struggles. For this purpose, the leadership of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan has prepared for it from inside and outside, both projects and principles (Liberation) and (the armed forces) on June 1, 1976, as the day of the onset of the armed struggle in southern Kurdistan against the Iraqi government. The present study consists of an introduction, two main sections, the results, and the references. The first section throws light on "Establishing the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan" and the second one has been devoted to disclosing the reasons and preparations for the leadership of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to start (the decision of armed struggle). As a result, we have tried to reveal the most important information about the research title based on the sources, and the history of the establishment of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and the decision to fight the armed forces.
