یعد القدرات الجوهریة والقیادات الأکادیمیة من المواضع الحدیثة فی القکر الإداری وقد نال الاهتمام الکثیر فی الدول المتفدمة وذلک لأهمیته فی تحقیق المیزة التنافسیة المستدامة للمنظمات على اختلاف انواعها,  لذا یهدف هذا البحث الى تسلیط الضوء على دور ممارسات القیادة الأکادیمیة والقدرات الجوهریة فی تحقیق التمیز التنظیمی فی الجامعة التقنیة فی السلیمانیة، حیث تم تصمیم استمارة استبیان لجمع البیانات و مکونة من ثلاثة اجزاء والتی تتعلق بالقیادة الأکادیمیة والقدرات الجوهریة والتمیز التنظیمی، و تم توزیع (120) استمارة استبانة على عینة البحث المتمثلة بالتدریسیین فی اقسام الکلیات فی الجامعة التقنیة فی السلیمانیة. واستخدمت عدة أسالیب إحصائیة من خلال استخدام البرنامج الإحصائی للعلوم الاجتماعیة (SPSS-V21)، وتحلیل  الارتباط البسیط والانحدارالخطی البسیط، وأظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة ارتباط واثر إیجابیة بین المتغیرات.  وبناءاً على نتائج البحث تم تقدیم عدد من التوصیات أبرزها العمل على بناء نظام من الحوافز لتشجیع الهیئة التدریسیة و تنمیة الرغبة فی الإبداع والإبتکار و الحصول على مرکز ومکانة ممیزة بین المنظمات الآخرى
