The current research aims to identify the obstacles for using modern teaching methods from the teaching staff point of view in the College of Education, Garmian University. To achieve this aim, the researcher chose (148) of teaching staff as a research society who are distributed among (10) of scientific departments in the College of Education for the academic year 2019-2020, and (74) of them have chosen to represent the sample. Then, the questionnaire was prepared as a research tool as well as distributed to some of pedagogy experts to verify its validity. As a result, the rate agreement was (84%) percentage, and the stability has been also checked by using (re-test) of (10) teaching staff. By using the Pearson correlation coefficient, the stability showed (0.80%). Accordingly, the questionnaire has been distributing to the sample of research. Statistically, research shows that the most important obstacles which are facing the teaching staff at the College of Education, Garmian University when using modern teaching methods are, overcrowded classrooms with a huge number of students, teaching staff prefer a lecture method for teaching, and unfamiliarity with modern teaching methods.
